Saved by the Italians (George B. Radan - 03/09/1919)

In 1941 George escaped from Zagreb, the capital of The Independent State of Croatia which was a puppet state of Nazi Germany, to Split in Dalmatia. At the time Dalmatia was annexed by Italy where George, even though he got arrested every once and a while, was safe. Later he was transfered to Bergamo where the Italian people helped him in many ways.
